More on Heather...

Heather MacLean is a retired Olympian who competed for Canada at the London 2012 Olympic Summer Games alongside her younger sister Brittany MacLean. Heather grew up in Etobicoke and started swimming at the age of 8. While Heather completed her undergraduate degree at the University of British Columbia (UBC), she was an integral part of the women’s swim team both as a captain and as member of the leadership council where she headed recruiting.

Heather has spent time volunteering as a swim coach for the Special Olympics and as an assistant in a primary school classroom. Heather’s commitment to giving back to the next generation is evident in her involvement with youth across Canada. She is raising awareness about mental health issues and suicide prevention through the Sashbear Organization and recently completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at U of T. Heather is now a Registered Nurse hoping to land a job in Pediatrics.
