Goal setting is one of the most important things you can do to be successful in anything!

Tip # 1 - Use all three types of goals

Long Term Goals: Big dreams take longer to achieve (over 1 yr).

  • In 2013 Michelle's long term goal was to qualify for the 2016 Olympics.

Short Term Goals: These are checkpoints on your way to achieving your long term goals.  

  • In 2013 Michelle's short term goal was to qualify for the World Championships in 2015, which was necessary to get her to her long term goal

Process Goals: These are the habits that you build daily to reach your short term and long term goals.

  • Michelle's goal every day was to get enough sleep, and to work on start, and underwater skills.
